The UK’s new Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law of July 2007 came into effect on December 15 2007. Under these regulations it is a criminal offence for businesses in the ‘regulated sector’ not to train staff in anti-money laundering procedures.

The ‘regulated’ sector is made up of businesses that provide a service and includes amongst others the financial services industry, estate agents, solicitors, bureaux de change and public or private limited companies.

For senior employees, MustHaveKnowledge has published The Advanced AML & TF Programme and, for all other staff, The Essential AML & TF Programme. Via a series of online study ‘sessions’ each programme provides step-by-step training in AML compliance.
